GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

Editorial Procedure

In order to select manuscripts for publication, a panel of anonymous readers will act as referees. Submission of a manuscript to Studi Emigrazione is taken to indicate the Author's commitment to publish in this journal. Studi Emigrazione has the right to first publication of all submitted manuscripts and no papers published by another journal will be taken into consideration.

Authors are not paid for their contribution; upon publication, all rights are owned by CSER – Centro Studi Emigrazione. Manuscripts, even those which remain unpublished, are not returned to Authors.

Preparation of Manuscripts

Submit an electronic version of the essay (as an attachment via E-mail) addressed to studiemigrazione@cser.it

 - Text should be maximum 20 pages in length, including tables and graphs: size A4, lead 1.5, Times New Roman body (point size) 12, margins 2.5. Footnotes: body 10, lead 1.
- Graphs and tables are to be saved in a separate file and accompanied by references to sources (please also provide spreadsheets containing data from which figures are originally drawn). Insert a location note (e.g., “Table 1 here”) at the appropriate place in the text.

- Photographs can be published only occasionally
- A 20-lines abstract summarising the findings of the paper should be included, both in English and in the original language of the paper
- The Author's name, surname, affiliation and mail should appear on the manuscript.

Format of references in text

-      When introduced for the first time, abbreviations are to be written in full length:

-      Tables and graphs are to be titled and all sources are to be identified.

 -    All bibliographic references are to be inserted in footnotes. Should a complementary end-of-essay bibliography be needed, this must follow the format illustrated above, with Authors to be listed in alphabetical order and, in the case of multiple publications from the same Author, in chronological order beginning with the most recent year.

Notes and discussions (conference reports, briefings...) should not exceed 6 pages in length; reviews should not exceed 3 pages.
